The manager will report directly to the owner. The duties of the ranch manager will include but are not limited to: • Ensure security of property • Prepare budgets for ranch operations • Prepare and approve payroll and spending reports and compilation of receipts • Supervise any employees and/or contractors • Communicate openly with owners and accounting/office personnel regarding ranch business and activities • Responsible for all facilities, landscaping maintenance, activities, wildlife, livestock, etc. • Inspect all ranch houses, bunkhouses, barns, and out buildings and perform or schedule maintenance and cleaning as needed • Inspect all landscaping throughout property and maintain all plant life and grasses as needed • Ability to work all heavy equipment such as dozers and skid steers, farm equipment, and implements on ranch along with ability to transport such equipment by use of gooseneck and/or bumper pull trailers • Inspect and maintain all heavy equipment, farm equipment, and implements and perform or schedule maintenance and cleaning as needed • Prepare the ranch for all visits by owner, owner’s family, and owner’s guests • Prepare and coordinate for special events and parties both at ranch and owner’s personal residence in a different location. • Inspect and maintain all household and cooking items as needed • Develop and maintain relationships with surrounding land owners • Monitor activities such as herd numbers, animal health, chemical application, habitat improvements, animal sales and harvesting, to ensure care of entire ranch and all habitat types • Coordinate with TPWD for MLD program • Implement and carry out wildlife management plan • Manage all wildlife on property to maximize production • Oversee, schedule and report on all hunting activities • Maintenance of and working with bird dogs on an ongoing basis • Oversee and maintain all firearms, recreational vehicles, weekend activity related facilities etc. • Be familiar with native and exotic animal recovery and health care • Ability to cape, field dress, and clean any wildlife harvested by owner or guests • Any other responsibilities deemed necessary and appropriate as directed by owner at ranch or personal residence Special Requirements: • It is understood that this position will require working during certain periods of time such as holidays as necessary to accommodate the owner’s family and guests. Qualifications: • 4 year degree in Ranch Management or Wildlife/Resource Management from accredited college or university is preferred, however, real world work experience is valued and will be given consideration • Working knowledge of Central Texas cattle and wildlife management • Have a general understanding of all aspects of a private guest ranch • Working knowledge of livestock and agricultural operations • Working knowledge of ranch accounting and budgeting • Working knowledge of native and exotic wildlife species • Working knowledge of game ranch Email: pompeycreek@gmail.com Posted 12-26-18 7787 visitors have viewed this ad
