Description of Operation: Cow/calf, replacement heifers, breeding bulls, fall/spring grass operation



Position: Assistant Manager



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Best Practice Grass Management - run pivot as required; rotate cattle; proper fertilization; soil testing; grass testing; Be able to mix/spray fertilizer and chemicals, and throw seed.

• Nutrition - mineral 100% of the time/protein as required; understanding of feed nutrition required for different ages of cattle; type of feed which utilizes/maximizes grass; inventory of feed

• Handling Cattle – experience on a horse working cattle, understanding of how cattle move and being able to assist in pens and out in the pasture with sorting, loading, etc.

• Heavy Breeding Season – check bulls closely each week

• Doctoring – sufficient in recognizing sick cattle and being able to doctor appropriately based on suspected illness.

• Maintenance of Equipment and Property – inspect equipment, traps, pens, chutes, fencing, etc.; sufficient in running large equipment for farming, and knowing basic maintenance on how to fix the equipment.

• Supervision – Assist Ranch Manager in coordinating day cowboys, vet, cattle haulers, etc.; communicate with subordinates, especially in relaying expectations and goals; Ability to work as a team with others; communicate with 7 Dude Ranch (grass fed beef operation)



Qualifications: Experience and education of the above list of responsibilities;

Able and Willing to work weekends and later into the evening hours.

Salary/Benefits: $30,000
