If you have a little cowboy or cowgirl looking for a horse to ride on the ranch with dad or grandpa, one that isn’t too tall but can keep up with the big horses and knows how to put in a days work, then check out Paisley. She is the cutest little grey mare, 14.1 hh and stocky with four black feet and a cute head with a kind eye. Paisley is 14, old enough to know better than to do anything stupid but young enough to have plenty of life left and gas in the tank. She is safe, well broke, very handy on cattle, and extremely sweet and gentle. Paisley has been used on the ranch for most of her life for all phases of ranch work, including roping and gathering cattle in the pasture, sorting pairs, and tagging and doctoring calves. She is good on the end of a rope, very cowy, and stays quiet while working. She would be an excellent horse for someone wanting to learn to rope or sort cattle, as she is very patient and forgiving of her rider’s mistakes. Paisley would also make a nice breakaway horse or heel horse, as she is the perfect size and has plenty of speed when it is necessary. She has been taught how to travel out in the pasture and can go all day long if you need her to. Paisley has also been to some playdays and has carried a flag in parades, and would make a nice little barrel and pole horse. She is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. She has a very good handle and stop, extremely smooth gaits, is good on both leads, and will work a gate. Paisley doesn’t act mare-ish and can be tied next to, ridden with, and pastured with geldings without causing any problems. She can be ridden by herself or in a large group of horses with no problem. She will leave the group willingly and will happily lead or follow. Paisley has also been ridden along the side of the road and in traffic and is not bothered by it. She has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, and rides just as quiet in the arena as she does out in the pasture.
