Notch is an extremely loving, eleven year old, Paint gelding. He has an “in-your-pocket” personality and treasures attention. 15.2HH, big-bodied with great bone, extremely smooth gaits, and a long stride.



Notch is ready to take in any direction. He has great potential in ranch horse versatility, roping, trail competitions, pleasure riding, equestrian team, English, vaulting, etc. Notch needs an experienced rider to take him to his full potential. He is very responsive and still green (due to inconsistent riding for the past few years). Recently he has bucked twice while attempting to mount him, which is extremely out of character for him. We are not sure if it is a saddle fit issue or something that could be corrected by the chiropractor.



I am listing him for my mom. The only reason she is selling him is because she has to undergo hip surgery and will not be able to ride for a long time. Notch deserves someone who can give him the time it takes to bring him to his full potential. He was going to be priced at $4k. But, due to the recent bucks and she needs to sell him before her surgery, price has been drastically adjusted to $500 for quick sale. Due to her current hip problems, she is not able to ride him to show potential buyers. Reduced price also reflects this.



Notch has solid ground manners. He has been ridden in the arena and out on the trail. Walks out well on the trail, will lead or follow, crosses water and bridges, ridden through brush, and seen plenty of deer and moose. Been around dogs, sheep, large equipment, four wheelers, etc. He has also participated in multiple horsemanship and trail-obstacle clinics.



He has been ridden using Buck Brannaman Horsemanship methods and recently finished two sets of 21 days with professional trainer Ty Heth. Responds to leg pressure, walk, trot, canter, back, leg yields, and will move out when asked.



This big guy loves to please. Loads and hauls excellently, backs out of the trailer, bathes, stands solid for the farrier and vet, ties, easy to catch, middle to low of the pecking order on pasture, etc. UTD on vaccinations, deworming, shoeing, and teeth.



100% sound, healthy, and an easy keeper. Has a small bump on his forehead, which is residual from some previous calcification. Received veterinary attention and it is simply a blemish and does not cause him any discomfort or problems.
