Description:
. The Bar V Unit runs 2000+ cows along with 500-1000 yearling heifers. The Bar V cows typically winter out on our Forks Unit from early December through mid-April, and are then trucked back to the Bar V prior to calving in May. Cows are typically run in 2 separate management groups. Yearling heifers arrive in May, are typically shipped back to our feedlot for AI in July and then shipped back to the unit post AI and grazed out through the first of the year.



The Bar V Unit manager is responsible for day to day operations and management of this management unit. In coordination with the management staff will set up grazing plans and work out scheduling for bigger events such as branding, weaning preg testing, etc. This person supervises one full-time and one seasonal employee. This position is not a stand-alone ranch managers position. While there is some cost management involved, budgeting, financial, and overall cowherd decisions are made on a total ranch basis.
