Penny is a cute 13hh chocolate and white paint pony mare, 12 years old and stout enough to carry an adult. She came from a family out in West Texas who had owned her just about her entire life, but recently sold the ranch and all of their horses. Penny has been used as a trail horse primarily, just to ride around the family ranch and check fence and cattle. She has also been a lead line horse for the kiddos and has been ponied behind dad’s horse out in the pasture. Penny will ride out in the pasture by herself with an adult rider but when a kiddo is on her she believes that her job is to keep them safely behind an adult’s horse. She prefers to walk and trot, but can be loped with some pushing. Penny has a very smooth trot you could sit to all day long, and will travel out nicely in the pasture on a loose rein and keep up with the big horses. She is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. She is very sure footed and will go up, over or through anything you point her at. Penny has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
