If you are looking for a nice trail horse that is low to the ground and easy to get on, yet stocky enough to carry an adult, then check out Nutmeg. She is 14.1hh and 8 years old, a cute red roan mare with a cute head and a good amount of bone. Nutmeg came from a family out in West Texas who had owned her just about her entire life, but recently sold the ranch and all of their horses. She has been used for a trail horse primarily, just to ride around the family ranch and check fence and cattle. Nutmeg is not a speed demon, preferring to walk and trot over a lope. She will lope if pushed but since she has rarely been asked to do more than walk and trot she does not love to lope. But her trot is so smooth you could sit to it all day long. Nutmeg is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. She is very sure footed and will go up, over or through anything you point her at. Nutmeg will ride by herself or with large groups of horses with no problem, has been ridden down the road and in traffic, and will happily lead or follow.
