I am 38 years old, married and have two daughters (8 & 14). We currently live southeast of Denver, but are willing to relocate. We are a quiet, non-smoking family looking to get back to the life we loved as a young couple. I grew up in Oklahoma, working on cow/calf operations from early in my childhood until I moved to Texas in 1999 and enrolled in the Texas Christian University Ranch Management Program. I graduated the TCU Ranch Management Program in 2000 and continued ranching until I joined the Army in early 2002, where I served 4 years in the infantry. After leaving the Army, I found myself in working as a federal security contractor, a job I have held for 11 years. In addition to my education at TCU, I also hold a B.S. in Accounting and have partially completed a MBA. I have a decade of experience in most aspects of ranching and some farming. My experience includes (but not limited to) riding, roping, shoeing, diagnosing, doctoring, AI and synchronization, fencing, haying, wheat harvest, low-stress handling, rotational grazing, budgeting, compiling herd data, preparing financial reports, heavy equipment operation and general ranch maintenance. Once upon a time I was AI certified. Although I have been removed from the agricultural industry for some time, I feel that my time in the Army, as well as my time as a government contractor, has taught me how to effectively interact with and manage time, people and resources. My passion has always been in the livestock/agricultural industry, and I have been trying to get back into the life for a few years. I am a committed self-starter with an unbeatable work ethic and I am looking for a long-term position that will allow me to learn and grow in the ranching/livestock industry. I understand that my ranch experience is not recent, but I am a determined, self-starting and highly motivated worker and I am trying to restart my career in agriculture. Given the chance, I know that I will be able to “find my seat” again on a horse and re-learn necessary skills, such as operating equipment, roping and identifying/doctoring sick cattle.
