Description:
We are looking for a self motivated, hard working, good-natured ranch hand.



Requirements:

Animal husbandry skills

Basic mechanic skills

Ability to live semi-remotely

Willingness to work alone or with others as needed

Ability and willingness to take a drug test.

Decent riding skills

Welding skills



Bonuses:

Ability to shoe horses

Advanced mechanic skills

Advanced horsemanship skills



This is not a "cowboy" position. Everything we do, we do horseback, but we aren’t riding every day. The majority of days will be spent feeding and fixing; keep livestock fed and keep this place running.



Joliet is a nice community with an excellent school and the school bus runs right to us. 6 churches, 2 bars, a café, pizza joint, grocery, gas station and post office pretty much rounds it out. (Oh, wait, there was a car wash open last week; we are moving right on up in the world.)



We are looking for someone for the long term. If you are looking for somewhere to light for 6 months so you can find something new in the spring, this isn’t for you.



Looking for someone with a "can do" attitude that will be happy to have a job and be a team player. I would like to do a face to face interview; if you are serious about making a long term commitment to a place, it seems reasonable that you should see it first and shake hands with the woman you are going to be getting a check from, before making the decision.



Job includes a nice 3 bedroom house on site. You pay for propane and we pay for electric.



Dogs and horses are negotiable. Dogs that kill cats, chase horses or even think about growling at me, are not welcome.
