Description:
I’m looking for a herdsman/foreman position on a place that runs registered cattle or is a progressive commercial operation, but that still considers itself a cowboy outfit.

I have experience managing data for multiple registered herds, I have calved registered cattle (weighed, tagged, etc.) both inside and outside, though I prefer range calving.

I have made culling decisions, helped select herdsires, manage bull sales and bred female sales, and priced private treaty bulls.

I can develop replacement heifers and build nutrition programs for cowherds.

I have a good working knowledge of range management and rotational grazing.

I have experience with AI and synchronization protocols.

Not opposed to running some yearlings - I kind of like it.

I have some experience with a variety of water systems and climate conditions.

I have a good memory for numbers and pedigrees and am good at identifying individuals animals.

I am good at low-stress handling, have a good eye for sick cattle, and am BQA certified.

I can ride young horses. I can sort cattle horseback both inside and in big country.

I don’t mind riding a four wheeler to fix fence, but I won’t move cattle with one. I am a cowman and do not want anything to do with farming in any way, shape, or form. Please no electric fence or calf tables.

WIlling to go (almost) anywhere in the west. Would prefer to stay (roughly) east of I5, north of I40, south of I90, and west of Valentine, NE.
