The right candidate for this position would have a strong background in all aspects of ranching. Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Caring for cattle from weaning time to shipping the following fall. • Feeding 3000-4000 steers and maintaining stock water during the winter. • Doctoring, pasture rotations, salt and mineral distribution and some water maintenance for cattle on grass during the summer. • Processing incoming cattle including branding, vaccinating, tagging etc. • Processing cattle for grass in the spring. • Shipping cattle to grass in the spring and off grass in the fall. • Maintaining ranch properties and improvements including some fencing. • Irrigating may be required at times, but we do have our hay custom done. 90% cattle work is done horseback, 4 wheelers are available and used on occasion. Personal horses will be discussed during an interview, but you will need a string to do this job. Qualified applicants should be able to rope and doctor, move cattle, work in the corrals and ride rough and big country horseback. Special consideration will be given to those with multiple years of experience in using a TMR feed program to start weaned calves. We run modern equipment and would appreciate a skilled and careful operator.
