Description:
This is a really nice pair of new handmade double mounted spurs made by Texas bit and spur maker Mike Richardson from Sundown, Texas. The spurs are marked Richardson 638 on the outside of both heel bands. Mike is listed in Bits & Spurs, Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makers by Ned and Jody Martin. Mike is one of spur makers selected to provide spurs for the Texas Style Bit and Spur Makers Association Woman’s Protective Services auction along with other top makers. His spurs do not show up very often for sale. The spurs are steel with a dark iron finish and are mounted with twenty four pieces of nickel silver, four pieces of brass and two pieces of copper. These would be a nice pair of spurs to wear or add to a collection from a very desirable Texas maker.
