Description:
We are looking for a reliable ranch hand for a well established ranch in Southeast Oregon. This is a permanent position and some ranch experience would be preferable. Although this is primarily a cow calf operation, we also put up quite a bit of hay. This is not just a cowboy job. The position we are looking to fill we be mainly haying and feeding, but there will be some cattle work and riding as well. The ideal candidate would be capable of all aspects of this operation including:

-haying

-farming

-feeding

-fencing

-mechanic work

-cattle work

-riding

-trucking

-pivot irrigation



This is a sizeable operation with long distances involved, so being able to complete tasks with limited supervision is a must. This job requires someone who is a self starter and willing to put in long hours when necessary. The position includes a nice newer 2 bedroom 1 bath house with electric and heating oil provided by the ranch. Salary will be competitive, but based on experience and capability. We are in a remote location 75 miles from town and 60 miles from a good K-12 school. Part time work for a spouse is a possibility, but not guaranteed.
