Description:
This is a used handmade silver mounted solid shank curb bit made by the late well-known bit and spur maker R. A. Glenn from Breckenridge, Texas. It is marked R.A.G. 22 on the mouth piece. Mr. Glenn is listed in Bits & Spurs, Motifs, Techniques, and Modern Makers by Ned and Jody Martin. He is self-taught and did not start building until 1987 after he retired from farming and ranching. It is not very often you see his work show up for sale. The bit is steel with a natural patina mounted with sixteen pieces of engraved nickel silver. The bit is not bent, broken, or repaired. This would be a nice bit to use or to add to a collection from a very collectible maker.

Measurements: Mouth Piece 5”, Cheek Pieces 7 ⅛”, Port Height (measured from top of port to bottom of bars) 1 ¾”, Mouth Bars Diameter a little over ½”, Bit Weight 12.3 ounces
