Buck is one of those once in a lifetime horses, the type that everyone is looking for but that rarely come up for sale. At just 9 years old, he is kid and beginner friendly, always gentle with no buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, and so nicely broke that you can do just about anything on him and have a good time doing it. Buck is the quietest, sweetest, best minded and most willing horse I have at my place. He is the type of horse you can let sit for weeks, saddle up and swing a leg over without warming him up and not have to be worried that he is going to buck you off. I am Buck’s second owner, I bought him directly from his breeder, when he was 5 years old. He came off a cattle ranch in Navasota, Tx where they doctored cows off of him. He loves people and craves attention, and when you walk out into a pasture full of horses he is the first to come running up to you. I have ridden him on trails, through the creek and thick brush, up and down rocky hills, and he will go anywhere you point him. Buck has also been used to push and sort cattle, he also tracks cattle, I have drug logs and tires with him, and have used him for heading, heeling, breakaway, and ribbons. He has carried a flag and has also done trail obstacles. There is literally nothing that scares him or spooks him. Buck is 15hh and as stout as they come. He has a good handle, stops easily and backs up nicely. Buck will sidepass, work off your leg, and open and shut gates. He rides just as good bareback with a halter or a rope around his neck as he does with a saddle and bridle. He has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, is perfect for the shoer, and loads and hauls great. Buck is laid back yet responsive, content to walk quietly all day long but will easily step into a trot or lope when asked. He can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. I have hauled him all over and he is always the same quiet horse everywhere we take him. $10,000.
