Whether you are a cowboy or a weekend warrior, an old man or a young man, an experienced rider or a beginner, this horse is gentle enough and athletic enough to suit your needs. It’s not often anymore that a 6 year old is as broke, quiet, gentle and experienced as this horse is, and on top of that he is pretty nice to look at. Roy is a 6 year old dun gelding, 15 hh and AQHA registered as “Fajitas Buckaroo” #5374002. Roy is extremely well bred, a grandson of Lena Fajita and Mr Sun O Lena with Doc O’Lena and Gay Bar King right on his papers. Check out his complete pedigree at: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/fajitas+buckaroo Roy has spent his entire life on the ranch, being used for all phases of ranch work, including sorting pairs, roping and doctoring cattle in the pasture, ponying colts, and dragging calves to the fire. He is strong to the horn and good on the end of a rope, and never gets worked up or excited around cattle. Roy is laid back and quiet, yet responsive, and rides on a loose rein. He is 100% gentle all of the time, and doesn’t need to be ridden every day to stay that way. He has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick, or take off, and he is gentle for just about anyone who can sit up and hold the reins. Roy is content to walk quietly all day long but will step into a trot or lope when asked. He does take some leg to get into a lope. Roy is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He has an excellent one handed neck rein, a good stop, and will wor off your leg and get a gate. He has an extremely smooth trot you could sit to all day long, and a rocking horse lope. Roy is an excellent ranch horse but is just as happy taking a leisurely ride down the trails. He can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. We have hauled him all over and he is always the same quiet horse everywhere we take him. Roy has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, gets along great with other horses, will load in any type of trailer you ask him to, and saddles and bridles easily.
