He is the type you can make a living off of during the week and then turn over to the wife and kids on the weekends and know that he is going to take really good care of them. Dandy is a nice looking grey gelding, 15.2 hh and approximately 1250 pounds, well built with a big hip, wide chest, plenty of bone, four big, black feet and a pretty head with a kind eye. His tail was chewed off by a calf so it is a little short but it will grow back. Dandy is 11 years old, AQHA registered as “Dandy Bottom” #4942042. Dandy is stout, tough, and could pull a house down if you asked him to. He is strong to the horn and good on the end of a rope, never getting excited or upset when working cattle. But Dandy also enjoys just a leisurely ride down the trails and would be perfectly content as someone’s trail horse and best friend. He is laid back and quiet, yet responsive, and will adjust himself to the level of his rider. He will not take advantage of a less experienced rider and will step up his game for someone who really knows what they are doing. He has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick, or take off. Dandy is broke to death, with an excellent one handed neck rein, and will spin, slide to a stop, do beautiful rollbacks and work off your leg. He will sidepass and work a gate and has smooth gaits that are easy to sit to. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. Dandy can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. We have hauled him all over and he is always the same quiet horse everywhere we take him. Dandy has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, gets along great with other horses, will load in any type of trailer you ask him to, and saddles and bridles easily.
