Check out this interesting saddle. It’s clearly different and here is the history... Custom Veldon Morgan saddle "Free to Run" logo tooling with basket stamp.

This saddle is a wade ranch roper and is built for working cowboys. The family that owns Morgans said it has a Bowden Cliff Wade - rawhide covered tree. The leather is heavy oiled full grain. It has a 15.5" loop seat with a 6" cantle. Real sheepskin fleece. The stirrups are a hardwood wrapped in brass colored metal.

This saddle has a limited edition stamp on it, it’s saddle 26 in a series of 100. Morgans saddle makers produced these as a fund raiser for the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary in Hot Springs, South Dakota. Doug Pirnie is the saddle maker, apprentice to the famous Veldon Morgan. Not all 100 saddles were produced, so this is a far more limited saddle than that number indicates. We don’t know the original owner of the saddle, but we do know a little about the history before we got it. It was donated to a non-profit horse rescue that used it in a silent auction fundraiser at Midwest Horse Fair. The winner of that auction donated it again to the Free Spirit disabled riders program in Wisconsin, where it was again auctioned in a fund raiser.
