Description:
Buckwheat is a 7 year old, 15 hand, 1150#, Buckskin Ranch gelding. This is a well made good looking gelding with a lot of shape. We purchased Buckwheat from the folks who raised him. He has been on a yearling operation in the panhandle of Texas all his life before coming to our ranch in central NM. He has roped a ton in the wheat, will really run to one, and hold a rope as long as you need to get your job done. Drug plenty in the trailer and drug calves to brand. This horse has a ton of speed and a big motor. He loves his job and knows it well. He is gentle but you need to be ok with a lot of horse that is ready to go. Nothing will out run this horse and if done right he will be there in two jumps and the rest is up to you. You can doctor or tag as many as you need to, he will be the same no matter the number. He can handle a big circle and is handling the rocks like he was raised in them. He has a running walk that is as smooth as glass and can cover lots of country. See him in our branding video, he is the only Buckskin dragging calves.
