Description:
This is a pair of used double mounted handmade spurs made by Texas maker Danny Pollard. Danny is listed in Bits and Spurs, Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makers by Ned and Jody Martin. The spurs are marked D. Pollard, 1159, and Merkel, TX on the inside of the heel bands. They are mounted with twenty six pieces of nickel silver and two pieces of copper. The spurs are steel with a natural patina and are mounted with a steer head on the outside band and cowboy boots and a hat on the inside band. There are marks on the mountings from use and play in the rowels but the rowel pins are good. This would make a great pair of using spurs or a nice pair to add to a collection.
