Night Calving Position

Wanted: qualified person for night calving large group of first calf heifers February 1 to April 15 / could turn into a full time job for the right individual

This is not a “cowboy” job

This is a bunkhouse position for a single employee / bunkhouse is shared with other employees

Important to have good time management skills

Needs to have average horsemanship abilities

Must be physically able to clean pens, carry water in 5 gallon buckets, handle 70 pound straw bales

Must be willing to work 12-14 hour shift

Duties include:

• Experienced at dealing with calving complications

• Assist any and all birthing complications

• Supervise part time help

• Must be able to deal with suckling and non-mothering issues

• Manually clean calving “jugs” with a pitchfork and rake

• Follow and complete list - set by supervisor
