Take a look at this big boy! If you like a horse that’s as wide as he is tall and one that isn’t too far off the ground, then you will love this guy. Joe is 15hh and every bit of 1300 lbs, and he is as gentle and sweet as they come. They don’t come much flashier than him, and he turns heads everywhere we take him. Joe is a 10 year old gelding, AQHA registered but we were not able to get his papers from the previous owner so he will sell as grade. He is dappled all over his body, has a big hip, wide chest, a ton of bone and a good sized foot. I am selling him for a friend of mine who has owned him over 3 years, so I have a lot of history on him. He is sound and healthy with no issues whatsoever. Joe is a big boy and rides quietly on a loose rein, but is very athletic and can move around like a little horse if you want him to. You will not find a better horse to ride out in the pasture or in the mountains. This horse is absolutely fearless and will go anywhere you point him with no hesitation. Even if other horses balk, Joe just goes right on through. Steep, rocky mountains, running water, thick brush, or narrow trails, deer or birds jumping out of the brush, nothing bothers him. Joe has been used to sort cattle in the pens but has never been roped off of. With his handle and responsiveness, he would make an excellent team sorting horse. He has been on many overnight trail rides and will go all day every day if you ask him to. Joe has never offered to buck, even on a cold morning. He has an excellent handle and stop, nice smooth gaits, and will sidepass, do flying lead changes, and work a gate. He turns around nicely and knows how to travel out in the pasture. Joe can be ridden by himself or in a large group of horses with no problem. He will leave the group willingly and will happily lead or follow. We have ridden him down the road and in traffic and nothing bothers him. Joe is gentle but too much horse for children or beginner riders. He has good ground manners and stands quietly tied. $9500.
