Description:
Are you interested in learning how to run a small family-owned farm? We are seeking a positive and hardworking individual to assist with the care of our animals, including our future litter of puppies due this Thanksgiving. This position is ideal for those looking to expand on their animal caregiving experience. **Please note this is an internship/work-trade position**



Daily duties include (but are not limited to):



Milking the family dairy cow

Caring for and exercising 3 horses

Handling and socializing German Shepherd puppies

Collecting and marketing duck eggs

The above work is done in exchange for room, board, and a $200 monthly stipend (extra work available). Each intern is guaranteed one day off per week which is coordinated with the other intern. Room and board** includes a private room, utilities, Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, food, and farm fun (basketball court, a dock on Loomis Lake with two kayaks, and access to the beach).



Our ideal candidate is flexible with a can-do attitude, follows directions, has experience working with companion animals and livestock, and is comfortable with a fluctuating income. Yardwork experience is a plus!



We are very involved in a local theater group (Peninsula Association of Performing Artists), follow the Monks of New Skete’s ‘The Art of Raising a Puppy’, regularly exercise our horses on the beach, and use Parelli Natural Horsemanship techniques on the ground and in the saddle. We encourage our interns to join us in these fun activities as we like to view them as an extension of our family.



**Please note room and board is only available for a single individual; we do not allow smoking or dogs (other than our own) on site.
