Description:
This is a pair of used handmade spurs made by bit and spur maker Ralph Lopez. Ralph is a long time bit and spur maker and teaches a bit and spur making class. He lives in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Ralph is one of the spur makers selected to provide spurs for the Texas Style Bit and Spur Makers Association Woman’s Protective Services auction along with other top makers. Ralph is listed in Old Cowboy Saddles & Spurs by Gretchen & Mike Graham. The spurs are marked Lopez 311 on the outside of both heel bands. The spurs are steel with a light gray iron finish and are mounted with nickel silver. There was a name on the offside band that was removed. There is a little bit of play in the rowels but not much. They really sing. They would be a nice pair of spurs to add to a collection from a very collectible maker or great pair to wear.
