Description:
This is a nice pair of handmade spur straps that were on a pair of display spurs made by Cowboy Designs and maker marked with his stamp and the initials DJM. They are basket stamped with nickel silver spots and stainless buckles attached to the straps with chicago screws. The conchos were made by long time bit and spur maker HM “Herman” Wells. Herman is a maker member stamp holder of the International Guild of Bit and Spur Makers. Stamp holders are reserved for accomplished bit and spur makers that have been through a jury process. Herman has been building since 1978 and also teaches engraving classes. The conchos are marked HM Wells. The conchos originally had a brand on them and were remounted with a bronc rider by Stephen White. They are steel with a copper rope edge. The bronc rider is nickel silver and there is engraving in the steel. The straps have not been worn but were on a pair of spurs for display. This would be a nice pair to wear or to display with a pair of spurs.
