Accountability, discipline and the ability to determine and monitor the important details are appreciated qualities that will increase the likelihood of success in this role. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ensures that daily Feedyard activities are carried out in an efficient manner • Helps Develop and lead assigned staff • Helps to Ensure that employees are directed toward performance goals • Helps to ensure consultants are directed toward performance goals. • Assists in the development and/or improvement of future and existing feedlot operations and procedures • Helps to ensure education and training needs are met for employees • Knowledge and awareness of USDA, FDA regulatory and animal welfare issues • Communicates with General Manager on yard maintenance needs • Communicates with the General Manager on current and future purchasing requirements and parameters • Will have to work various holidays and weekends depending a schedule. • Responsible for other duties as needed such as but not limited to: Pen riding, doctoring, feeding, equipment operation and maintenance, at the discretion of the General Manager QUALIFICATIONS: • Strong communication and leadership skills are required • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs • Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish) are preferred EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: • 2+ years of successful experience in feedlot operations, including some supervisory experience ATTRIBUTES OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE: • Self-Motivated with Strong work ethic • Demonstrated problem solving & communication skills • Willing to ask questions and ability to learn from your mistakes • Passionate about the cattle industry • High level of integrity and honesty • Ability to work well with others in a team environment • Confident but have a high degree of humility Benefits include: Family health, Paid vacation, Housing with utilities paid, and Work Vehicle.
