Description:
Large cow/calf ranching operation near Kenefic, Oklahoma is looking for a qualified, self-starting individual for the position of Assistant Cattle Herdsman. This individual will assist the Herd Manager in the daily management of all livestock at our Kenefic Location.



Duties:

Work under the livestock herd manager to oversee the health and well being of all cattle on ranch.

Responsible for feeding, light doctoring, working, weaning and all other aspects of cattle operation.

Must be familiar with common cattle diseases and husbandry.

Must help maintain fences, rangeland, and equipment necessary in the successful operation of the ranch.

Work with the herd manager in submitting records pertaining to daily cattle operation including: feeding, doctoring, etc.



Requirements:

Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of post high school experience in cow/calf operations.

Must be able to work cattle on horses and ATV.

Must have a working knowledge of hay equipment, tractors and feeders.

Must have experience in all aspects of cow/calf operations.

Must be insurable to drive company vehicles and must pass a physical.

This is a physically demanding job. Employee must be a self-starter, dependable and work varying hours.

Must be able to work with other employees and managers.



Additional Information: This position is based near Kenefic, Oklahoma. Housing and basic utilities (electric, gas, water) provided. Employee must live on property. Employee must be flexible on work schedule. This position demands employee to help work cattle at other properties if needed. A company vehicle will be provided for this purpose. All tools and equipment deemed necessary to perform work duties will be provided.



Compensation: Salary – Based on experience.

Two weeks paid vacation annually.

Housing and basic utilities provided.

Paid employee health insurance.
