Description:
This is a new handmade Pat Vaughn solid shank curb bit. Pat is well-known bit and spur maker from Shamrock, Texas. It is marked with a P and an upside down V and numbered 227 on the port. This is Pat’s version of the 27 style bit. Pat has been building bits and spurs since 1980 and is listed in Bits & Spurs, Motifs, Techniques, and Modern Makers by Ned and Jody Martin. It is polished steel and is mounted with engraved nickel silver. This would be a nice bit to add to a collection or to use.

Measurements: Mouth Piece (measured between cheeks) 5 ⅛”, Cheek Pieces (measured from the top of headstall ring to bottom of rein ring) 8 ½”, Mouth Bars Diameter ⅝”, Port Height 1 ¾”, Weight 17.4 ounces
