They must perform any/all veterinary care that can be done on-site as needed or required. A minimum of 2 years of AI experience in cattle and/or horses is a must, along with being able to perform pregnancy checks using ultrasound equipment and/or palpation. This is not a management position. This position must be willing and able to work all/any shift as assigned. They must be neat, clean, organized and motivated to work well individually or with other employees as needed. A clean record and legal drivers license is a must. Past work experience and references will be requested. Job duties may include but not be limited to the following: -AI knowledge and experience in cattle and/or horses is required -Ability to preg check livestock using ultrasound and/or palpation is required -Attend to livestock, specifically cattle and horses -Keep records of cattle using computer program such as RedBook or Cattle Max -Horse training and colt breaking is not mandatory but would be considered a plus -Herd livestock to pastures for grazing -Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries and treat accordingly -Vaccinate/medicate animals if/when necessary which may require use of syringes and hypodermic needles -Assist with calving, brand, tag and castrate calves -Maintain ranch buildings and equipment in satisfactory condition -Order parts and supplies as needed or directed -Landscape and upkeep residential area(s) using powered and manual equipment which may include but not be limited to mowers, weed eaters, trimmers, sprinkler system(s), etc. -Plant, cultivate, and harvest hay using tractor, swather, rake and/or baler -Experience building and maintaining a proper 4 and 5 strand fence would be considered a plus -Experience operating bulldozer, road grader, and large track hoe along with other farm machinery would be considered a plus -Mechanic experience and skills are not mandatory but would be considered a plus.
