Description:
"Beginning Rancher" looking to increase stocking rate on 110 year old operation.

Moving to an intensive grazing rotation, pasturing irrigated ground in the summer for huge gains and improved cattle longevity.

Looking to run cattle on a share deal.

Around 100 head would be preferred, I would need to cut what is not going to work well with our electric fences.

Your cattle would be ran separately from the rest of the herd, so bull selection would be of your choice.

No organic.

These cattle would be ran by myself who has degrees in Finance and Agricultural Business, my brother who has degrees in Animal Science, and part timed by my father who has 59 years experience.

I want to be very clear with any interested party, the cattle need to be of comparable quality to our own, no trader trash, and this is not my dad’s good ’ol boy ag industry any more. I have ran the IRR and Payback analysis several times for cattle on shares, and 70/30 just doesn’t work for the operator anymore. This would have to be an 80/20 deal which after depreciation and Schedule F write-offs still gives the investor a better ROI than the S&P 500. 80/20 is more appropriate risk adjusted rates of return for passive investments as such.

3 year minimum contract. We calve in mid march and wean in October, sell in November. Calves would have to be shipped by end of November if you choose to market on video sales and I would have to have a lien on your brand, being paid by December 31st.

I am willing to do first calf heifers if we use the semen of my brother’s choice as that has been working out really well for us.
