Description:
Looking for an honest, hard-working hand who is self-disciplined, has a good attitude about the job and the hard work it entails, as well as basic knowledge of cattle. Knowing how to mechanic and/or weld a plus.



Our family owned ranch is located on the river bottoms of the White River in the southeast corner of Jones County. Our address reads Draper, SD but live 20 miles southeast of the small town of Draper. My home, my parent’s home, as well as the hired hands home are located in the main yard of the ranch.



We run Black Angus - about 350 calving cows and a hundred heifers of which the heifers will start calving mid-March. We AI all the heifers and bull breed the cows. Most of our 5000+ acres is pasture but do plant 1200 of those acres to crop consisting of corn, sorghum and some winter wheat as well as various food plots. We have the option to irrigate our bottom ground and depending on the summer and precipitation, do flood irrigate. We run newer machinery – Case & McCormick, we do some smaller square baling with most of our hay work being put up in round bales. I’m very interested and practice rotational grazing with our cattle; have the great fortune to have artesian well water and rural water to water my cattle and my parents operate a small hunting business for prairie dog, pheasant and deer hunters in the summer/fall. We do our cattle herding from 4-wheelers and Side-by-Side but do have a couple horses our daughters are learning to ride.



We supply housing, all utilities but phone, internet and satellite TV; we supply beef, and willing to visit about the option to run a small number of cattle.
