Description:
A progressive western Nebraska family farm and ranch is hiring an assistant ranch manager. Our core herd is low-input (May/June Calving) and accustomed to rotational grazing on native range and cornstalks. Additionally, we run custom and leased cows requiring varying management techniques.

Primary responsibilities include managing 800 pairs year-round, care and maintenance of the ranch grounds, and cornstalk fencing. Hay production and hay feeding are minimized. Our ground does not require the use of horses and most work is completed via ATV.

Work breakdown is approximately 50% ranch work, 25% maintenance and repairs, 25% assisting with farming operations.

Successful applicant will have prior experience in animal care or grounds maintenance. We want somebody that knows how to identify and remedy issues with animals or facilities on the range.

If you enjoy a challenge and are a resourceful problem solver the job is yours. If you blow up when things don’t go as planned, you’re not the right fit. We are willing to train the right candidate.

We are located 10 miles north of Imperial Nebraska, 20 minutes from the Colorado border. New family housing and full benefits included in compensation package.
