Description:
Looking for a long-term grounds Ranch Manager/Worker for a private ranch (almost 1200 acres) north of San Antonio between Helotes and Pipe Creek off of Hwy 16.







MUST BE A NON-SMOKER



Must have prior ranch hand, equine experience and common knowledge skills.



Must have a valid driver’s license and experience pulling large trailers and driving tractors and similar equipment.



Must be an expert rider with a sincere love and appreciation for horses. NO SPURS.



Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs.



Must have good texting skills.







Full-time



Salary DOE



Ranch truck provided for on-site transportation and business errands.



Ranch does not currently have a barn or corral. May need to assist owner with the coordination of construction of buildings.







Responsibilities include, but not limited to:



- Mild exercise of horses and assist owner with trail riding around ranch.



- Feeding of horses and longhorns – as needed



- Feeding of cats and clean litter boxes daily



- Monitor health of all animals and inform employer on a daily basis if there are any animals of concern.



- Work with farrier as needed; notify Employer about what was done



- Fill and maintain deer feeders



- Ensure that all feed is fully stocked by Friday of each week



- Clean mobile home once a week – sweeping and mopping floors



- Repairs and maintenance as needed to water troughs, pumps and cisterns



- Repairs and maintenance as needed to equipment, fences, gates, trees, road, etc.



- Maintain ranch truck in good working condition; notify Employer when oil changes or repairs are necessary.



- Duties may include managing of any additional ranch workers.



- Any other items requested by Employer







Work Quality:



- COMMUNICATION IS KEY. Must be willing to text the owner and be open with communication.



- Must use COMMON SENSE and be willing to go the extra mile



- All work is to be neat, clean, professional



- Clean up after yourself – put everything back where it belongs



- Quality tools and supplies will be provided – just ask if you need something



- If it is broke – fix it or notify Employer



- Use your time wisely, all work that can be done separately should be performed as such.







Requirements:



- NO SMOKING



- Must be patient and attentive.



- Must have knowledge and ability to text. Owner will reimburse for texting capabilities.



- Previous ranch hand and equine experience



- Must have reliable transportation to and from work



- Dependable and self-motivated



- Must have a valid driver’s license



- Must have all proper documents & paperwork for employment



- Ability to lift, pull and push up to 75 lbs, carry materials, bend, twist, kneel, climb and balance.



- No prior felonies (background check will be completed)
