Description:
Trainer - SINGLE PERSON - Must be experienced in English and Western disciplines, basic Dressage, have a gentle hand and will be competing in the show ring with the horses you train. Must be able to work multiple (from 1 -6 depending on the level of training) horses during the day. No outside horses, just mine to work with, so no clients to have to please – except me.



Not a fancy facility or farm, just basic country breeding farm, so must be able to work with very basic facilities: round pen for groundwork and an uncovered arena for advanced training.



I am not looking for a high school person who had a horse while growing up that they trained and think they are now a “horse trainer”. The candidate must have Verifiable Experience in training horses both in English – hunter/jumper; Dressage, and in Western – pleasure, trail or other disciplines. Will be handling stallions (very gentle) so person must not be easy to intimidate. If you are afraid of the (docile) horses, then you are not a horse trainer. Recent equine school graduate will be considered in lieu of field experience.



LONG TERM EMPLOYMENT.



Must be self-motivated, able to make EDUCATED decisions, able to work without direction when owner is not there and must be physically fit. This is a very physical job, lifting and stretching and riding and running, so if you are NOT physically fit then you are NOT a horse trainer. Some natural breeding experience helpful.



Must be able to take direction as well from owner. The job is 6 days a week - appx 7 hours per day - sometimes 7 if a show is on the agenda.



Do not apply if you are a serial job hopper, cannot take constructive criticism, have no VERIFIABLE experience, you smoke, are irresponsible, not in excellent physical shape, or if you expect this job to be different that stated. HONESTY is a must!! Must have own transportation. NO SMOKING PERIOD!!!!! NO PETS.



The job is outdoors in all weather. There are no covered riding areas.
