Description:
This is an opportunity to combine work/play in Glacier National Park!! I have a small Ranch (one hundred sixty acres) on the east side of Glacier Park. Full time caretakers (couple preferred) are needed to live on the property, manage the vacation rental business, and maintain the property, buildings and equipment. I am also looking to expand the operation into a self-sustaining, organic enterprise: market garden, feeder steers, chickens. There are currently four Vacation Rentals on the property (three homes and a historic bunkhouse) and a lakeshore cabin for day use minutes from the Ranch. The Vacation Rentals are operated seasonally but expanding into the fall/winter. There are presently seven alpaca and one guard llama on the property that are sheared annually and their fiber processed by a mill. Within reason, your horse(s) would be welcome, pasture and water provided. Housing provided would be a 2 bedroom frame house (full basement) with a wood stove for supplemental heat. I would provide utilities, a pickup for Ranch use, and salary (DOE). The area is very rural; wildlife abounds and the setting is exceptional: lots of peace and quiet, exceptional hiking and photography opportunities. The Ranch is twelve miles from Glacier Park, three miles from the Canadian Border, beautiful golf courses in the area including Waterton Natl Park. There are good restaurants in the summer season (but everything pretty much closes down for the winter) and world class, blue ribbon fishing in lakes and streams. Qualifications include being reliable and trustworthy, being drug-free, a clean driving record, having a good work ethic and being a self-starter, knowledge of the Ranching lifestyle, experience in Ranch maintenance, livestock, hospitality management (computer & admin skills), knowledge and experience in landscaping/gardening/groundskeeping.
