POSITION SUMMARY:

Manage the people and resources a 130 year old diversified cow/calf and yearling operation in southwest Nebraska. The ranch consists of 30,000 deeded and 15,000 leased acres. The ranch runs 2,500 cows and 5,000 yearlings.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Direct, coach and train 5-6 employees, plus some part time help.

• Make strategic decisions on cowherd to ensure high conception/weaning rates.

• Develop yearlings for optimum performance and profitability.

• Manage rangeland resources for long-term productivity.

• Maintain present ranch infrastructure.



COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

• Cow calf production, beef cattle nutrition, mechanical abilities, interpersonal and veterinary skills.
