Description:
Currently searching for the right fit for a full time, year round job on a cow/calf. I am only open to Montana or eastern/northern Idaho on the Montana/Wyoming border. Only looking for work on a family owned and operated ranch. Not interested in any corporate or absentee owner outfits. My strengths as far as work experience and what I’m good at are cow work including spring and fall works, working cattle in corrals, sorting, processing, branding, gathering and moving cattle, checking water and hauling salt and mineral to cattle,have some calving experience, a little doctoring experience, treating scours, pneumonia, footrot, pink eye, etc. Feeding cattle in the winter with bale beds, bale processors, flatbeds etc. Fencing, repairing and new fence as well as corrals, pens, cattle working facilities. Welding and fabrication at a professional level. Carpentry work of all types. I have operated most brands of tractors, wheel loaders, skidsteers, not much backhoe or excavator experience. I have performed maintenance on and done minor repairs on vehicles and equipment. I have set up pivots in the spring, wheel lines, cleaned ditches, done very little flood irrigating. I have run sets on wheel lines. I have cut hay with a couple different header swathers both sickle type and disc type. I have hauled bales off the fields and stacked in stackyards. I have a lot of experience around chainsaws, wood processors (chippers and splitters) and a fair amount of plumbing experience. Not super handy with electrical. I’ve sprayed weeds, cleaned barns and pens, and probably some other things I’ve forgotten. I’m a non smoker, no drugs, no problem with alcohol. Single man, will need decent housing, can be small. Looking for a fair salary and freezer beef. I’m starting the search now looking to get started around the end of May/early June.
