Description:
We are a forward-thinking family-owned cattle ranch in Eastern Oregon dedicated to sustainable land management, livestock health, and innovative practices. Our mission is to combine traditional ranching values with cutting-edge methods, including intensive grazing and new technology, to improve ecosystem health and operational efficiency.





Position Overview:



We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Ranch Manager/Foreman to lead our livestock and grazing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in intensive grazing management, a passion for sustainable agriculture, and a willingness to learn and implement new technologies.







Key Responsibilities:



● Develop and execute rotational and intensive grazing plans to optimize pasture health and livestock productivity.



● Oversee day-to-day ranch operations, including livestock care, pasture management, and infrastructure maintenance.



● Monitor forage growth, soil health, and livestock performance to adapt grazing strategies as needed.



● Train and supervise ranch staff in sustainable grazing practices and new technologies.



● Maintain detailed records of livestock, pasture rotations, and environmental data.



● Collaborate with landowners, veterinarians, and consultants to achieve ranch goals.



● Ensure compliance with environmental and animal welfare regulations.



● Assist in budgeting and financial planning for ranch operations.



● Oversee multiple properties.







Requirements:



● Minimum of 3 years experience in ranching management.



● Proven experience in livestock and grazing management, with a strong focus on intensive grazing systems.



● Knowledge of pasture ecology, forage management, and soil health principles.



● Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in the face of changing conditions.



● A willingness to learn and embrace new technologies.



● Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage a team and interact with stakeholders.



● Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.



● Valid driver’s license, experience with ATVs, UTVs, or other ranch vehicles is a plus.







Preferred Requirements:



● Experience with or knowledge of virtual fencing systems.



● Familiarity with regenerative agriculture principles.



● Basic mechanical, fencing, and water system repair skills.
