Description:
Experienced and proficient campman seeking either a stable camp position or foremen/management opportunity. I have cowboyed from California to the Caprock of eastern NM, from southern Colorado to the Mexican border. I have worked for most of the big wagon outfits in the Southwest as well as smaller family operations and excelled at both. I’ve successfully worked and led crews to gather, work, ship, brand, etc. in country both rough and easy, haired over and open, and on outfits that had pasture in the hundreds of sections and others which did not total 30 for the ranch.

Having worked in a lot of different country and for a lot of different people, I am open to new ideas and know there are many ways to accomplish most tasks but believe there is always a "best" way to do any particular thing. I endeavor to find that "best" way. I was blessed to spend many of my formative years at Babbitt’s in northern Arizona and always go back to how that prestigious outfit operated as a benchmark from which to adjust to anywhere else I have been. If entrusted with a position of leadership or management, my goal no matter the size of the outfit would be try and emulate the efficiency, consistency, and competency which defines the management of Babbitt’s.



I am proficient in all the skills associated with the cowboy part of my profession. More than that, I have had the opportunity to lead others to accomplish the various tasks associated with the husbandry of pairs and stockers and have helped keep cowboy crews on wagons as long as 10 weeks focused on finishing the task at hand.



I also possess experience and some degree of proficiency in: welding, fencing, packing, water line and storage/drinker maintenance and installation, operation of water trucks up to 3500 gal and pumps, basic mechanicing, operation of skid steers, backhoes, loaders, and forklifts, and have helped design and build working pens.



In addition to this, I have both formal and self-education in the fields of range health, cattle nutrition, and grazing management. I have helped plan and implement grazing plans and supplemental feed rationing.

Ideally, I would like to find a job in Arizona or New Mexico but am open to opportunities in NV, CO, UT, neighboring parts of CA or TX.
