Description:
Position Summary: The Ranch Hand is responsible for performing a wide range of duties related to the upkeep and maintenance of the ranch, including both seasonal and daily tasks. This role ensures the smooth operation of the ranch, contributing to the overall guest experience and property management.



Key Responsibilities:



1.Winter Duties:

oMaintain and repair heating systems to ensure efficient operation.

oPerform snow removal from driveways, walkways, and other areas as needed.

oWinterize homes and buildings to protect against cold weather.

oApply tarps to hay to prevent drying out.

oMaintain and store patio furniture properly.

oFeed bison and ensure their well-being.

oMust be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.



2.Summer Duties:

oMaintain and repair irrigation systems and sprinklers.

oPerform general home improvements, including painting and sheetrock work.

oPower wash buildings and surfaces as needed.

oAssist with fencing and landscaping tasks.

oRemove pests and manage garbage disposal.

oEnsure guest satisfaction by providing a welcoming and pleasant environment.

oUtilize fishing experience to assist guests staying at VRBO properties.



3.Daily Duties:

oFeed bison and ensure their well-being.

oPerform snow removal as needed.

oAssist with various maintenance tasks around the ranch.



4.General Maintenance:

oPerform regular maintenance and repairs on ranch equipment and facilities.

oAssist with upkeep and improvements to ranch buildings and grounds.

oAddress any maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.



5.Additional Responsibilities:

oSupport other projects as assigned by the Ranch Manager.

oCollaborate with other ranch staff to ensure smooth operations.

oMaintain a clean and safe working environment.



Qualifications:

•Previous experience in ranch work or a similar role is preferred.

•Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

•Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

•Knowledge of heating systems, irrigation, and general maintenance tasks.

•Experience in fishing and assisting guests is a plus.



Work Environment: This position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed is required.
