Description:
We are colt starters/horse trainers and in the summer time we give stagecoach rides in the badlands of Medora, ND at North Dakota State Historical Society Chateau De Mores but Our horse training facility is located by the badlands about an 1 hour from Medora. We are needing seasonal help and are looking for someone who wants to learn how to start colts (or someone who wants to add to their knowledge on starting colts,) and learn to drive teams driving a stagecoach for the summer. So high schoolers are welcome to apply so long as they have parent’s written permission.

Our operation is a team effort so not all duties are left to one person. Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

-Feeding/Watering all animals on both properties (Our Training Property and Our Stagecoach Rides Area).

-Cleaning stalls/pens

-Catching, Saddling, Harnessing Horses

-General ranch maintenance (moving hay, building fence, cleaning and oiling tack etc)

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

-If under 18, must have written parents’ permission, otherwise 18 and Older is a must.

-Must be able to pass a background check

-Must have some experience with horses

-NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED ON EITHER PROPERTY UNDER ANY CONDITION!!

-This is a highly active position - must be physically capable to be on your feet, ride horses, stack hay (lifting at least 50lbs) etc.

-Good at communicating

-A proactive teammate is a must

EXTRA INFO:

THIS IS AN INTERN/APPRENTICESHIP POSITION!!

•Therefore you won’t get regular wages except for the one or two outside horses that we will allow you to have. Wages could be "Dependent on Experience" after a couple months.

•We will board two horses at no cost to you. One could be your personal Horse and you may have an outside horse (which we can provide one if you so wish) or you can have two personal Horses. We charge $1,200 a month Training Horses plus $300 board, therefore you could get $1,200 a month or you can have 2 outside horses which would get you $2,400 a month.

•A camper/living quarters pad and hookup will be available for the employee to live on one of the properties or a RV small camper or Cabin we own may also be provided. Board is also Included.

OVERVIEW of the JOB:

Applicant will be allowed 2 horses board free, use of our facility, be furnished with a camper or cabin (if they don’t have one) including utilities which goes with the camper (ie. Electricity and Sewer) and Groceries.
