Our Mission Statement:

Here at the Stephens ranch we have been working to create the best and most fertile grazing lands with high biodiversity. With target grazing, we can restructure the lands to have fewer weeds, better microbes in the soil, better grass, and do our part in fire fuel mitigation. Not to mention when on a multi-year grazing contract, the lands regenerate themselves and will in most cases allow the grasses to out-compete the weeds.

Our Goals:

1. Weed Control

2. Turn Dirt into Soil

3. Convert Weeds to Feeds

4. Raise Healthy Goats



Why Goats?

Goats have an inherent preference for consuming plants that other species find unpalatable such as poison ivy, junipers, greenbrier, knapweed, leafy spurge and sericea lespedeza.

Goats are also effective at managing woody plants by stripping the bark off tree trunks, which can kill the tops of woody vegetation that is greater than 7 feet tall.
