Description:
Houret Livestock is a backgrounding yard located 10 miles south of Twin Falls, ID. The yard has a current capacity of 3500-4000 head and some smaller grass turnouts. Fall and Spring have a heavy focus on backgrounding several thousand grass cattle while also feeding other cattle year round. Wean several thousand calves in late spring and early fall. Being familiar with high-risk salebarn cattle and weaning calves would be very beneficial. Many of the cattle are owned by operator with some custom feeding. Not a corporate yard or environment.



Duties will include but not limited to riding pens and pulling/doctoring cattle, processing incoming cattle, weighing and shipping/receiving. Need to have the ability to rope and doctor cattle alone.

This position will predominantly involve cattle handling but there will need to be some level of involvement in all aspects of the yard. The ability to operate equipment, mechanic, or weld would be beneficial. Must be capable of working with a team and independently. Expect to have some variation everyday.



Company horses also available if you don’t have one you can get the job done on. This is a Monday - Saturday job with rotating Sundays, additional days off as needed. Company house is available with large yard and small garage.



Salary or hourly depending on which is a better fit. Compensation package negotiable depending on experience and abilities. Grow Yard is located roughly 15 minutes south of Twin Falls.
