Description:
Full time ranch hand position available. Family owned and operated. Operation consists of a Registered Angus herd (with a production sale in Feb) and commercial herd, replacement heifers and coming 2-year-old Angus bulls on grass.
Full-time position, with housing provided. Salary depends on experience.
Ranch is 10 miles from Colstrip, MT which has a grocery and hardware store. The closest Walmart is 90 miles to either Miles City, MT or Sheridan, WY.
Duties included, but not limited to: Calving, doctoring, moving cattle, branding, chute work, feeding, fencing, maintaining and checking water, dryland haying, daily maintenance, some mechanic work and welding on corrals. Prefer experience with all cattle duties and operating heavy equipment (semi-truck, tractors, swather, rakes and balers
Must have Cattle experience. Doctoring, moving cattle and able to calve cows and heifers on their own.
Needs to be a self-starter with a good attitude and work ethic. Must be a team player with the ability to work independently.
Can have 2-3 personal horses depending. Cattle work is predominately done horseback. ATVs are used sometimes.
Employee will be responsible for calving and feeding mature cows at lease places in spring.
This is not a full-time cowboy job.
Must pass background check.
No smoking inside and in any vehicles. No pets
