Description:
Job Title: Ranch Hand
Location: Quitman, TX
Job Overview: We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Ranch Hand to join our team in East Texas. The ideal candidate will have experience in ranch operations and be skilled in operating and maintaining heavy equipment. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in daily ranch operations, including feeding, watering, and caring for livestock
• Maintain fences, barns, and other ranch structures
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as tractors, skid steers, and backhoes
• Perform land management tasks, including mowing, brush clearing, and road maintenance
• Repair and maintain irrigation systems
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as planting, harvesting, and Hay management
• Monitor animal health and report any issues to management
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in ranch work and animal care
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining heavy equipment
• Basic mechanical skills and the ability to perform routine equipment maintenance
• Physical stamina and the ability to work in varying weather conditions
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with cattle and horse care
• Knowledge of pasture management and irrigation systems
• CDL or other relevant certifications
Compensation:
• Competitive pay based on experience
• 90 Day probationary period
