Currently, this facility is home to a thriving group of seasonal Combined Driving competitors and their horses, along with a routine group of equestrian guests and nature enthusiasts. Set away from the hustle of Ocala’s thriving sporthorse centers, this property offers a nature-forward and tranquil setting often missing from similar venues. With upscale amenities including a fine-dining restaurant and bar, beautifully manicured pool, dozens of private cottages and tiny homes tucked amongst the oak trees, and several arenas and RV hookups scattered throughout, this is an equestrian’s ideal home away from home! Job Description This unique Equestrian Resort just outside the Horse Capital of the World is seeking an assistant manager to join their team! This person will enjoy a lot of versatility in their day. Responsibilities will include assisting with daily barn chores, grooming and tacking horses, helping guests mount and dismount, leading rides, and managing and executing riding/training schedules for the horses. This person will also have the opportunity to assist with the daily administrative functions of the program, as well as the development and implementation of new service offerings and general program growth. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a barn, be comfortable handling and riding/training/driving horses, have experience matching horses with riders, be able to follow directions, and be able to take on a leadership role as needed. This person should feel comfortable working independently or as a team both in and out of the barn. Ensuring excellent customer service, providing for the well-being of the horses, and fostering a strong team atmosphere is key. Knowledge of Florida wildlife is a plus. The program Manager maintains show-barn quality standards for her barn and horses, and a keen attention to detail is required. Job Duties • Turning out/bringing in horses/ feeding & watering horses • Mucking barn, stalls, paddocks, cleaning tack, horses • Grooming, bathing, wound & injury care • Inventory management, ordering • Tacking /untacking horses (English and Western) • Leading trail rides & assisting guests with mounting / dismounting horses, demonstrating how to steer and stop the horse, and acclimating guests to their horse • Assist with the development of an expanded trail riding operation including lessons, camps & other activities • Office work such as horse medical records, booking system, schedule changes, emails, guest communications, reports and financials. • Program development activities such as designing and implementing new attractions, generating marketing materials, promoting the program through events, and presenting plans to leadership. Job Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of professional equine experience - preferably in a Trail or Dude Ranch setting • Ability to demonstrate competent riding capabilities on unfamiliar horses (carriage driving a plus) • Minimum 1 year management/leadership experience • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and management • Detail-oriented to ensure safe practices and maintain a clean and healthy environment for the equestrian business • Ability to perform both stable and administrative duties including marketing. • Work weekends, holidays and odd hours to develop the new business model and meet client demand. • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, must be 18+ ability to hook up and drive a truck and trailer is a plus.
