Bar T Bar Ranches, located in Northern AZ has an immediate full time opening for the right person to join our team. This is a large, high desert cattle ranch. The ranch consists of approximately 400,000 acres in Coconino and Navajo counties with a Seedstock and Commercial cattle operation. Two HQ’s, 19 corrals, 6 camps, 27 wells, many, many miles of pipelines, storages, drinkers, and fence. The summer HQ is located in the Coconino Nation Forest, a minimum of 52 miles from the nearest town, and the winter HQ is located 30 miles from Winslow, AZ just off of I-40. Cattle are trailed between the two HQ’s in the spring and fall, followed by numerous pasture moves throughout the year.

This opening is for a full-time working ranch foreman. Candidate can bring up to 3 well broke geldings for ranch use. No mares and no dogs used on the cattle. Depending on the time of the year the work week is generally Monday through Saturday with Sundays off. As with any ranch the spring and fall works will require longer hours and may require some Sundays to be worked.

Duties include but are not limited to: Working with Ranch managers to see that the goals and benchmarks set for the ranch are met or exceeded and done so within the budget. Supervising, leading, and organizing of up to 4 seasonal employes. Health and wellbeing pertaining to cattle, horses, rangelands, and people. Responsible for the commercial cattle herd and target goals set for that herd.

The right candidate would be a well-rounded individual who is an outgoing, fast paced team player. Someone who is a self-starter and does not require daily supervision.

Requirements:

-Resume

-3 work references

-10 plus years of ranching experience

-5 plus years of leading a crew

-Valid drivers license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a drug test

-Ability to work outside in all weather conditions

-Knowledge and practice of good grazing principles

-Knowledge and use of low stress livestock handling techniques

-Skilled in horsemanship, and have your own gear

-Knowledge in livestock health

-Good written and verbal communication skills

-Good attitude, work ethic, and problem-solving skills

-Working knowledge of wells, storages, pipelines, drinkers and generators

Preferred, But Not Required:

- Working knowledge of Range Management

-Horse shoeing ability, and tools

-Mechanical, welding, plumbing skills

-Heavy equipment operation

-Class A CDL
