Description:
We are a family operated cowhorse training facility located in Marsing, Idaho. With show season coming up, we are on the hunt for a full time assistant trainer/ranch hand. Please read the full ad before reaching out!



Our operation is a team effort so not all duties are left to one person. Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

-Feeding/Watering all animals on property

-Cleaning stalls

-Doctoring livestock as needed

-Catching, Saddling, Loping, Washing and Blanketing Horses

-Operating ranch equipment (skid-steer, tractor, trucks and trailers)

-General ranch maintenance (moving hay, building fence, burning weeds etc.)



Job requirements:

-Must be 18+ years and have a valid drivers license

-Must be able to pass a background check

-Must have some experience with horses

-Must be available Monday-Friday full days and 1-2 Saturday mornings for feeding and cleaning (rotated with the other employees)

-This is a highly active position - must be physically capable to be on your feet, ride horses, stack hay (lifting at least 50lbs) etc.

-Good at communicating

-A proactive teammate



(Not Required)

The ideal candidate will:

-Have experience starting and putting first rides on colts

-Be a confident rider on all levels of horses

-Know how to read cattle

-Know how to rope



EXTRA INFO:

•Pay DOE - competitive wages

•May board one horse for free after 6 months, can possibly arrange space for additional horses for an additional charge

•For the right fit, a camper/living quarters pad and hookup may be made available for the employee to live on property or a small camper we own may also be provided

•During show season we may need an employee for show help or have an employee stay on property to manage the ranch and ride remaining horses, so being flexible with either is a must. Depending on the show we may be out of town, so some Sundays for ranch-sitting or being at the show may be expected - you will know in advance.
