RJR Ranch is looking for a skilled and patient individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to teach and guide people with varying skill levels. At RJR Ranch, everyone pitches in, so while team roping would be your focus, you’ll also help with the day-to-day duties that keep a ranch running. What We’re Looking For: • Roping Skills: Must be a 6 header or heeler. • Patience and Teaching Ability: Must be willing to teach in a clear, articulate manner. • Adaptability: Open to learning, growing, and taking on diverse responsibilities. • Ranch Experience: Previous experience working on a ranch is a big plus (not just roping experience). Duties & Responsibilities Roping (80%) • Find and maintain finished rope horses for family use. • Source and break in roping cattle. • Ensure the health of roping horses and cattle. • Help family members prepare for jackpots and roping clinics. • Create and oversee a training program for new rope horses our goal is to build our own finished Rope Horses. • Coach family members and assist with skill development in roping and riding. Other Ranch Duties (20%) • Work cattle, assist with calving, and feeding. • Maintain ranch facilities, fences, and equipment. • Build/Train/Maintain ranch horses. • Harnessing and Driving teams.
