Introducing Sundbar Drifter, known here as Drifter. This is a friendly, eye-catching gelding that is ready to go in any direction you choose. He is a handsome dappled buckskin with the same breeding that has dominated both rodeo and ranch programs. Drifter is already proving his quality at ranching. He has gathered cattle in big country, roped young calves in the pasture, head and heeled calves for branding, and worked in a feedlot where he pulled, sorted, and shipped cattle. Drifter is patient, sensible and handles pressure. Drifter is quiet on the trails. We’ve had many different riders on him including 3 of our own children (aged 13, 11, and 8). He’s well versed on trails in the mountains and through town. He is confident around bicycles, traffic, and strollers. He crosses bridges, water, logs, and rough, steep, brushy terrain. He rides out alone or in a group. He is well started in the arena... loping circles, tracking calves, going around the barrel pattern. He picks up both leads. He’s smooth and willing in all gaits. Drifter works off both direct and indirect rein and leg and voice cues. We owned the mare that he is out of and started Drifter from the ground up. Drifter is one cool cat… he has a take care of business attitude and a laid back style. Drifter hauls well, loads easily, and backs out of the trailer. We’ve hauled him long distances camping out and checking cattle. He is vet and farrier approved. He is up to date on dental float, vaccinations, and deworming.
